| | SOAD - Radio/Video | ] | I sent out a survey about e-mail and Instant Messengers a while ago. Far and away, the funniest replies are as follows:
Mandy: /* Hi Thermos!!! This course’s title is the exact same as the 4th year course that comes after my CS/MIT course right now! Hehe. G’luck on the rest of this assignment!!! I’ll talk to you later! */
[Only a true geek can appreciate a giant Block-Comment at the end of a survey]
Allen: 3. List features you would like to see added to your Instant Messenger and why. the ability to E-bitchslap people, seriously you have no idea how usefuol i'd find that one
[E-Bitchslap?? Fuck yes!!]
Angus: 3. List features you would like to see added to your Instant Messenger and why.
Get rid of stupid ads. have hot babes randomly talk to you when you’re bored. Yea, have the instant messenger have some type of sensor that can tell when you are bored too. Also, have another sensor that can tell when your girlfriend is around, that way, it won’t send hot babes if it knows your girlfriend is around, so you wont get in trouble.
4. List features you would like to see removed from your Instant Messenger and why.
There should be a sensor that can tell when you are being told off by your girlfriend on msn, and then it cuts off her connection, so… she just goes away, so you don’t have to listen to all that jibba jabba. And as a bonus, it should find some hot random broad, and have her talk to you instead. Google needs more hot babes. yea.
[Answer the questions? Fuck that. Making a rant is alot cooler. Oh, Angus is the reason Computer Science kids don't have girl friends by the way.]

Midterms are over, and Reading Week has started. Normally, that would kick ass, but I have so many assingments I have to stay here (because I don't want to lug my computer home on the bus).
That being said, anyone who wants to come on down, this would be a great time. There's not a insane ammount of people here, most everyone has free time, it's just good clean fun.

COSC3P40 - Advanced Object Oriented Programming Using Java What do we do in that class? We make video games.
...sounds cool, eh? Yeah, that's what I thought too. Then I looked at the assingment, and realized it was not so cool. (http://www.cosc.brocku.ca/Offerings/3P40/Assignment1.html <--My assingment for any that care).
Long story short, this assingment has consumed my life since Monday. The only time I've been in my room was to sleep. Even then, I didn't stay long. I even slept over at Andrew's place because I stayed in the labs until 1:30am. Since Monday, I have spent about 31 hours on it. 12.5 of those hours were spent on Thursday alone.
In the end, it got done. Hell, if I spent that much time of the assingment to not finish it, I'd just drop the class. But on Thursday night, I realized something: The extremes of the people in my program.
There are guys like Cody. The guy who walked into the lab 12 hours before the 3P40 assingment was due, and starts joking about how he'll finish the assingment in an hour and a half. The kind of guy who thinks the groups in our Software Engineering class shouldn't be so protective of their work. Just an all around chill guy. Then there are guys like Chris. Guys who are wound up super tight. The kind of person who wouldn't help you in an assingment if you begged, and who thinks everyone is in competition with everyone else.
It's guys like Chris that give Comp. Sci a bad name, but guys like Cody make me glad I'm in Comp. Sci.

| [ | music |
| | Mad Caddies - Villains | ] | It is a close one, it really is. I'm 99% sure this was the best concert I've ever been to..but Wakestock was a blast.
My brother picked me up at 4, and we left for the concert at 6:30. Drove to my Grandpa's resturaunt, and took a street car down. Some crazy/drunk guy got on at Queen St., and started to yell at everyone. He got kicked off the street car when he called the driver a nigger (Keep in mind, the driver was white).
So, we get there, and all was well. The openers didn't suck, which was a big improvement over last time. Infact, one of the basists was an old guy (I love old rockers) with a ZZ-Top beard and everything. He's officially one of the coolest dads ever. Right after the openers were done, everyone started to rush the stage. This is all well and good, but one girl was complaining that everyone was pushing. She freaked out at my brother Andreas for some reason, so I told her "Welcome to a metal concert, sweetness". However, Niko decided to take the more direct approach, and just tell her to "Fuck off".
Then Sonata came on, so I squeezed my skinny greek self into the front row, and had a great old time. The highlight of the night was when, inbetween songs, the lead singer comes up to me and asks me how I'm doing, and what song I wanted played. That alone made my night.
At the end of the night, it turned out that Tony had 3 pints too many, and puked 6 times. What a trooper...

| | The Flatliners - Fred's Got Slacks | ] | Many apologies for the lack of posts. Things have been kinda crazy lately.
Where to start? Well, the break back home was a blast. Did everything from watching Amy eat Goomba ice cream to ring in the new year with taboganning. <--- Will you look at that crappy spelling? THAT, is a work of art.
Unfortunately, school this semester might be harder then last semester. My classes are as follows: Advanced Object Orientation: This will either be the super-fun class, or the rape-me-day-and-night class.
Human Computer Interaction: By far the most interesting CS class I'll probably ever take.
Procedural Programming: This is *hopefully* my bird course. Seeing that I know Ada and C, it SHOULD be review.
Software Engineering: No classes or anything. Just a 4 month long project worth 50%. This is the confuse-the-hell-out-of-everyone class
Computation Number Theory: This class has a failure rate of something stupid like 60-75%. I just hope to God that I'm not one of them.
On the plus side, Don's Ball is tomorrrow, and we're celebrating Eric's birthday on the 23rd, which I'm sure will be a blast.

| | Reel Big Fish - Valarie | ] | This past weekend was insane, I kid you not.
My brother, Rylan and Andrew (Asian Andrew) came up for the weekend, just in time for the Office Party. This Office Party was probably the best party we have thrown so far. Saw some people I havne't seen in a long time (Unforutuately, Kat was not one of these people), and saw some people for the first time (Like Leila's Andrew). But most importantly, NO ONE GOT SICK!!! A trend I would like to continue. However, I'm inviting Matt, Josh, and Dave Edwards for the next party...so we'll have to keep an eye of Josh and Dave...
The day after was The Planet Smashers concert at L3, which was so good, words can't explain how awesome it was. Between the energy of the crowd, and getting myself on stage, it was the best "small venue" concert ever.
Yesterday, we played snow football. To be fair, it wasn't "Snow Football" as much as it was "Frozen Ground With Cold Winds And No Snow" Football. Jamie was tring to tackle me all game, but instead, I ended up tackling her (and knocking the wind out of her no less). However, Karma came around and almost broke my finger on a bad catch...so it all evened out.

Her: "did u no that now from all the ppl yesterday i have 280$...lol" Me: "Hey Aristeya, you want to do me a favor?" Her "wat" Me: "Not type like an idiot?"
At first, I could stop laughing, then my conscience came around... In my defence, she's the most annoying 12 year old sister I've ever had. I then spent the next 5 minutes trying to convince her to not type like she had a lobotomy, but to no avail. Guess young habits die hard...
On the bright side of things, school is essentially done this semester. 3/4 of my classes are done, and I have one last assignment due Friday, which is beyond easy. The only class I have left is my 8am Operating Systems class. :/
Niko is coming down this weekend with Rylan, Niq, and Andrew (Yeah, there'll be one more Andrew around just to confuse people) which can only lead to good times. Finally, gonna get my Ska fix on Sunday with The Planet Smashers at L3. :D

I still feel like a real ass, 'cause it's my sister's birthday this Sunday...and I'm not going to be able to make it home. :/
On the bright side, my brother and a few of his friends are coming down to St.Catharines next weekend, just in time for our little shin-dig on the 3rd. And to put icing on the cake, The Planet Smashers are playing at L3 on the 4th. Guess that'll make up for not being able to goto the RBF concert.
On a creepy tangent, I went out to this bar called "Cheers", since it was Samantha's "moving back to BC" party. I went to use the washroom, and some guy started to talk to me while I was in the middle of taking a leak...What the shit?!?!

| | Mad Caddies - The Gentleman | ] | Hey Everyone.
I haven't been posting nearly as much as I probably should have, it's just between school, assignments, and volenteering at the high school, I haven't had much time to breathe, nevermind post.
So, what's been happening for the past little while? Quite a bit.
One of my cousins, Nick, got hitched. If anyone has seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding, then you pretty much saw their wedding. 200 people from Nick's side...and about 30 from Sarah's side. :P
My 2 year old cousin was babtised recently, so naturally, after the babtism, we went to a hall and danced/ate/drank up a storm. Not as big as the wedding, but it was still a grat time.
I'm volenteering at St.Catharines Colligate, which is both fun and depressing all at the same time! It's great teaching kids, but when you find kids that don't know what 5*3 is, you start to lose faith in the Education System. :/
There have been several birthdays, and we've broken our new house in quite well. I'm actually confortable living in downtown St.Catharines now!
In school, I've had to learn a language called Ada, which I'm convinced is the spawn of satan. It's cryptic, bitchy, and all-around not fun.
Last, but not least, Reel Big Fish on the 20th. Can I get a "Fuck Yeah"?

[Sep. 23rd, 2005|03:37 pm] |
So, I'm helping teach a computer science class in a St.Catharines high school, and the kids we have in the class are pretty cool. Among the things these kids said are:
"What? We have to read the text to have a chance at passing the quiz? That's communism!"
"Hey Jeff, give me the Disk A La Boot"
"Yeah Mr. Clark, maybe after he gets good at Java, God will bless him with a thousand virgins too"
Almost makes up for putting up with the kids that know nothing.
On a side-note, Jamie asked me what I would do if I was being hit on by some high school girls. I said something along the lines of "Well, first I'll pretend I'm 17. And the washrooms probably don't have cameras, right? So..." And at that point, I was interupted by the sound of Jamie's jaw hitting the floor.
I didn't know people still took me seriously anymore.

| | Awe of She - GGX | ] | Work has been goin' well. I've managed to get good tips, while not having to seduce anyone! How I've done this? That's one question I've been wondering myself. However, since this week is my last week, I may lay on the sas...even if only for a bit. :P
Newmarket. Ahhhhh, Newmarket. It was a good time. Had some burgers, played some games, watched some movie. The odd thing about the trip was the drive to and form Andrew's place. Going to Andrew's, I was in the worst traffic jam of my life. However, coming back to my place, the roads were empty. I'm talking I-can't-see-anything-but-the-horizon empty. So, I did what any indestructable youth in a car would do...I drove fast. The Jeep has now gone 175Km/H. Not too sure if I want to try to beat that...but time will tell.
I move half my stuff into St.Cathrines on Monday, and the other half on the 30th. Just in time for Mike O'Connor's birthday celebration. And since we intend to compensate for the lack of Mike O'Connor's birthday from last year, it should be one helluva good time.

Now, that's saying alot because I've been around the block a few times. Next year, I highly HIGHLY recommend that anyone and everyone should attend next year's show, provided the bands were as rockin' as this years.
Picked up some great tunes while at the show, got Rise Against to sign one of their albums, and even got to take a picture with them! And Niko has the nerve to say they're not good...
Let me tell you something about The Dead Kennedys. They have, arguably, the coolest bass guitar player EVER. Never have I seen a man that old rock out that hard. If only everyone could be that cool when they're old.
However, the highlight of the weekend would have to be Reel Big Fish. Between the copious ammount of skanking and the fun of getting hoisted up into the air by a crowd, all I can say was "Wow".
After the show, on my way home, I saw a Red BMW with the licence plate "BOOMSTIK". If I ever steal a car, I know which one I'm going after.
